Congratulations Ian !!!!
And NOW the FUN begins !!!! :-) :-) :-)
Don't worry about the stall - many Rebels will go right
down to ZERO on the dial before stalling ! The Rebel flies through
such a wide range of angles that it's hard to get a good reading
for all. (A wide (like 5/16" ID) pitot tube will help ....)
Cruise should be in the 90 - 100 mph range, depending on prop.
The 912 needs at least 200 hr. to break in, so count on re-pitching
the prop every 100 hr. or so, as it develops more power !!
The 912 rebel is pretty amazing - I could fly level at
30 mph, with full flap and about 3/4 power ..... and roll into
steep turns left and right without ANY problems !!!
It WILL spin - and VERY quickly, too, after the first turn.
Take an EXPERIENCED instructor along if you haven't done these
in a while !!!
Have fun !!! (I KNOW you will !! :-) )

G'day
Well it flies!
I spent most of the day doing the preflight inspections and finally
summoned up the courage late in the day to open the throttle.
I was amazed at just how quickly that I leapt of the ground!
I'm not sure that the airspeed is reading correctly as the nose finally
drops in the stall at 10k!
What stall speeds do others get?
The Rebel is just what the advertising says that it is! It's a real pussy
to fly, and a really nice coordinated airlane.
I can only say to those building their Rebel is to keep at it. It is really
worth it in the end!
I would like to extend my thanks to all those listers who have offered
their help over the last few years. Your assistance has been instrumental in
me finishing the Rebel.
I particularly appreciated the responses from Bob, Wayne and Rick Ford. It
seemed that it was never a problem to answer all those questions and even to
send photos of the areas that were causing me trouble. Thanks again.
I am now looking forward to getting to know my Rebel.
Regards
Ian Donaldson
