You can use that fuel burn rate to estimate the actual horspower you are putting out in cruise. Apparently most internal combustion engines burn about .5 lbs of gas per horsepower per hour. Your US gal weighs 6lbs so you are burning 30lbs per hour Divide by .5 = 60 hp.
