Thanks Mike.. I'll get Daryl to have a look from this end as well (at his
server in gbay plastics) when he gets back from holidays.

Wayne,

Spent some time going through the server logs this morning, and there are
4
addresses that my system keeps attempting to send/resend messages to...

oifa@irishfield.on.ca
doshea@georgianbayplastics.com

So here are yours... and Daryl's I assume. Anyway, both of yours being on
the same server I am seeing exactly the same thing... which is what's
strange. The log shows that the message was delivered and accepted, but
then the system attempts to resend the same message an hour later. I've
copied these log entries and sent them in to the developer for review.

schmidt@mtaonline.net
dazey@turbousa.com

Now these two at least make sense, since the message is not being accepted
correctly by their server, so they should be queued to resend. But...
they
are also both on the same server (not same as you, but same as each
other),
and they are the only list members on this server... so I would think
there
must be a problem with their server.

IMPORTANT !!!

I had an interference issue there and had to take out some additional
material from the angle. I can see how that could be a common occurance
since it is up to the builder to make that part and I have also noticed
that side to side rocking of the fuselage will cause that whole assembly
to
flex laterally. If the angle was in contact with the inner surface of the
strut fork, that might cause a failure. I'm not sure how to stop that
lateral flex. I was considering remaking the fittings that bolt to the
side
of the fin post (ts 3?) Out of steel.

Okay.. so attachement at the "man made" end (vs factory made stab
attach).
Maybe they have an interference issue.. the attachment angle hasn't been
relieved enough and is bottoming in the fork just as the bolt makes the
hole. Or a bad tail spring set up with a lot of movement working the
angle/fork fitting. Maybe I should jump on a pressurized can and come
check
it out in person. I could use a pint of 6X from a good UK pub !!

Toni Schmidt

[rebel-builders] Repeat email

Post by Toni Schmidt » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:54 pm

Mike, I'm travelling in Europe and recently checked my mails and, yes, I
get the same group of 10 or 12 mails repeated over and over. Deleted some
300 so far. I'm not computer savvy and have no idea what causes it, but only
mails from the rebel-builders' site are repeated, none of the others. But
out of my experience, MTA needs to be kicked once in a while.

Hope to get back to building on my Rebel sometime in September.

Thanks for your work, Toni

Hi Wayne (and all)

The fork that broke was the lower end (fuselage end) on this latest one.
I'm
trying to find out more about the original event.

Aircraft was a 235 powered one so not excessive power as a cause.

Wildcat! Interactive Net Server is an application that runs on Windows... it
is completely unaware of domain or active directory configurations. The
problem turned out to be the timing routine the SMTP module was using while
waiting for the remote server to respond that the transfer was complete.

Hopefully we've got it fixed... shouldn't take long to know for sure. So
far since installing the update last night I am not seeing multiple attempts
in the server logs... but there hasn't been much activity on the list since
the update, so I'm not convinced yet. ;-)

Mike

:O)
