[rebel-builders] Amphib Height

Post by Walter Klatt » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:34 pm

Set up a 5 inch ramp that your front wheels would roll over just as the tail
reaches the edge of the door. The weight on the front gear is pretty light,
so should be easy to just pull them over the little ramp. That would be
enough to lower your tail to fit under the door.

I should measure my tail height again. It got lowered last year when I
increased the float angle. I think it is pretty close to 9' 7" now.

A hangar I'm looking at has a door height of 9'7". Wayne and others, are
there techniques that would let me use this with my rebel on amphibs?
Wayne, you've mentioned ramps in the past; would they handle a 5-6"
difference? I guess if worst comes to worst, a guy could pump the wheels up
and roll it in on dollies or something. Craig

Thanks, Walter. Sounds like it might be a non-issue. BTW, how much did you change the float angle?

I went from 2.5 to 3.5 degrees just before I installed Wayne's Canoe Loader.
