G'day
FWIW when I was building my Rebel I forgot about running the fuel lines
until it was too late in the construction to put them under the floor.
What I eventually did was run to run the line down the rear of the door
post, along the sill and then to the gascolator. I then mounted the
gascolator so the bottom of it just sat on the cowl sill.
I have never had any problem with fuel flow or the entrapment of water in
the low point of the pipes. Just occasionally I will take the hoses from the
gascolator, lift the rear or the Rebel high in the air just to purge the
lines in case some water is trapped. I have never found any water anywhere
in the system.
Regards
Ian Donaldson
: Not necessarily. Typically, the cowl extends past the bottom of the
: firewall to provide an exit for the air in the cowl. There would probably
: be enough room for the gascolator to still be above the bottom of the
cowl.

: If I take a line even across the bottom of the sill I will hit the fire
wall
: at the bottom, so my gascolator would have to be mounted under the cowl or
: firewall if I want it to be the low point.
