AIL 26 and 27 - aileron slop

Hi folks,

I just mounted the aileron on my right SR wing. There
is a little bit of side to side movement. The AIL-26
steel busing is longer than the AIL-27 brass bushing
is deep. This means a bit of side to side movement in
the aileron. The only reason I am concerned is I don't
want the spade to jam coming back up into the wing tip
recess during control movement. Anyone else noticed
this and how did you deal with it?

Jason,

We have the same lateral movement and will deal with it the same way we did
the lateral movement of the aileron torque tube, after receiving the
following from Brian at MAM:

"I do indeed use washers to space out the tube at the tip end to stop any
lateral slop. From memory, an AN6 washer slips nicely over that AIL-26 steel
bushing, and spaces things out."

We used a delrin washer at the torque tube. We will use similar for the
ailerons and flaps.
