If I can find the doubler for the rear spar I am ready to finish up my first wing. Can anyone tell me how long it is? I think it is the same shape as the W-502 I believe only longer.
Also, is it worth flush riveting the leading edge? With all the stringers in the leading edge it seems I'd like to. Do I flush everything in the leading edge; both stringers and ribs? Do I counter sink or dimple; only skin or both skin and underlying ribs and/or stringers?
Sorry I'm so lame....but I am having great fun!

Ps. I still haven't decided on an engine........
Do you want this big green box to go away? Well here's how...

Hi Jim
I can't comment on the doubler but as far as flushing goes my feeling is that we are building a work horse not a race car. Yes no doubt you may pick up a few miles an hour but I understand this takes alot of time.
Good Luck

I dimpled the skin and countersunk the stringers. I also did this on the
entire wing. I have been told you can countersink the skin, but it looked
mighty thin to me.
I don't recall on your other question.

It does take some time, but I have flush riveted the entire SR and I'll bet
it has added less than 200 hours.

Hi Jim !
Flush rivetting the leading edge ??? The factory tried it
on a Super Rebel - turned out to be a couple of mph SLOWER !!
Maybe the rivets act as vortex generators and actually enhance the
air flow on this particular airfoil ..... ;-)
Just MHO - save yourself a LOT of work, use the standard rivets,
and just GET IT FLYING !!! ;-)
.....bobp
PS
According to the guys who soup up Globe Swifts, flush rivetting
makes diddly difference until you're over 300 mph !!! :-)
