Where's all the rebelers, come on, lets not let the mooses take over. Nice to hear from everyone,lets not forget about the elites too.
Well, against all popular opinion, I painted the inside of the fuselodge. So I added a few pounds, it really looks good. Starts to get that finished look,keeps you pumped up, getting closer.
Bought some paint, went with the RM brand.Painted the inside of tail post and tube on the rudder, same idea with the stab. and elev. This way I can final assemble with the hard to get at places done.
Chuggin along doin my thing, gettin there.

Ok, here is a Rebel question.
This question concerns the number of 1/4" bolts required through the strut and
strut blocks at each end of the strut.
I have looked at a lot of Rebel pics and noticed that most have the four 1/4"
bolts as per the construction manual. I have seen one with five bolts?
Here is the thing. I bought a partially built Rebel that only has THREE bolts,
but only just noticed it now! (scary !!)
Should I drill and install another bolt between two of the existing ones or
will the sepatation between these bolts be too small now?
I called Murphy on this one and they were very helpfull in explaining that it
was not so much the bolt strength that was the issue here but rather the
bearing surface of the strut material.
Thought I would put this one out there for comments, it is rather important to
me for obvious reasons.

Actually the manual spells out 5 bolts in each of the fittings (the older
manuals told you to peg with one bolt and then drill 4 more holes!), but I
have seen many with only 4. Three (3) is a BIG gamble and I would think that
you could get a more definitive answer out of MAM, on what to do with it, if
you asked a little harder!! I can't tell you what to do with it, as I can't
see the spacing or block material that is left to drill into from here!

The problem for you is to determine the usefulness of your existing parts. I
can only offer you what my parts measure. There are 5 bolts (AN4) equally spaced
with a total centerline to centerline distance of 3.75". This leaves 4 equal
spaces of .937".

I have exactly what you described below, but missing the #2 and #4 bolt. The
measurements you supplied are what I needed to ensure that I would have
adequate spacing to drill for the two missing AN4 bolts.

I agree with Wayne on this (like I would disagree) in that the manual stated 5 bolts but the wording was very grey. We had the 4 drilled when it was discovered and immediatly called MAM for a verification. Being very pointed about the fact it would be on floats too. The answer from MAM was that We did not have to replace the struts and blocks. If there had been any question on this , you can bet it would have been done! The answer came from Daryl M. after he had done the calculations. With the 4 spacing we couldn't have put in the additional bolt, but perhaps with the three spacing you'll have the edge room.
