Sorry, I'm tuning in to the middle of this, as I've been off
the list for a couple of weeks .....
The Rebel kit is still only $15,500 (+ $4,300 for the f/w fwd
kit) ... so about $20,000 for the airframe, and $8,000 to $21,000
for the engine, depending on used, rebuilt, or new ... so about
$42,000 - sounds pretty good compared to $179,000 for a new C-172 !!!!
You get a custom-built airplane, the way you want it, with the
potential for up to 4 seats, and/or a flying camper, or "The Best
Floatplane in the World"(tm) !! ;-)
If that flying Rebel is in the Eastern States, (N.H.),
it's a bargain ! If not, I'd have a real good look at it ....
In any case, those bargain days are going quickly - as people discover
what a great flying airplane the Rebel is, prices have skyrocketted !!
A Rebel on amphibs here recently sold for $98,500 - and the next one
will likely go about $110,000 or more !! (Alright- those ARE Canadian
dollars, but still, it's all relative ! :-) )
