Some time ago there was discussion about lifting the airplane for float
installation. Has anyone installed permanent lifting rings on their
airplane?

Lift Rings
Lift Rings
Al, it has been done before on the Rebel, but in my opinion with the
compromise of structural integrity of the carrythough. On the Rebel all I do
is pop the leading edge fairing off. Then I use a 1/2" bolt under the
carrythrough inboard of the wing attach bolt, that is slipped through the
cable slings thimbles on each side of the carrythrough. The wing attach bolt
keeps them from sliding anywhere. This can be done on the SR2500. On the
SR3500 you will have to use a strap sling around the front wing attach
fittings as the carrythrough route is no longer possible due to the
reinforcing bracket on the rear side of the carrythrough assembly. Why add
the drag and ugliness of lift rings when it's this simple?

Lift Rings
I followed Wayne's advice on this when I mounted my amphibs last year, and
it worked really well.

Lift Rings
Thanks Guys,
I'll stick with strap sling. Lifting rings make such good hand holds to
climb up on the wing to add fuel.
