Andair Fuel Selector

I just received my Andair fuel selector ($265 USD !!) and was a little
surprised and disappointed at the configuration of the fuel ports. The left
port is under the left selector position, but the right port is under the
both position, even though the one page note that came with it says it
should be on the right. This makes fuel line routing a bit more difficult.
Plus I had hoped that the outlet would be in the same plane as the two
inlets, preferably out the front to lead to the firewall so that I would
have more room between the selector and the elevator push/pull rod.
Unfortunately, the outlet is on the bottom. There may still be room with a
right angle fitting, but it makes it tighter than I hoped. I know there is
at least one SR builder out there that mentioned the use of the FS25X4 valve
in between stations 2 and 3 where I want to put it. Did you have the same
setup? Did you have to elevate the valve any to make room or is it flush
with the floor? It looks like I'll need a 90 degree fitting on the front
port to go to the right tank line, a straight fitting out the left port to
the left tank line, and another 90 degree fitting on the bottom outlet
fitting to the left or right so the outlet fuel line will pass over the
elevator push/pull rod and rudder cable, then down low to pass under the
control stick torque tube. Sound familiar?

Hi Mike,

I used the Andair FS25x4. Forward of the flap handle about midway to the
gear box, and slightly shifted to the right so that the exit port and
coupling clears the elev. push tube. I made a fiberglass cup to recess it so
the top of the knob was flush with the floor. My tank lines pass along
either side of the flap handle, then the right one crosses to the left side
in front of the flap handle and around to the front of the switch. I used a
90 degree fitting to a flexible hose to pass under the elev push tube to my
fuel pump in the floor below the pilot's seat then up to the firewall. If
desired, I'll take some pics and post them to the archive if anyone's
interested.
