IO540 fuel system

Post by bear » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:16 pm

Does anyone out there have any experience with a
IO540 Lycoming fuel system? I am not ready for my
engine yet but plan to install a 300 hp in my sr3500.
I am presently on the wings and am trying to
decide if I need a extra fuel outlet on the tanks
to accept return fuel. Does anyone know if the
Lycoming injected 300 hp engine requires a fuel
return line to tank(s)?
Thanks
Gerry

Hi Gerry,

No, Lycoming engines do not require a return fuel line. Good choice of
engine, by the way. What model number are you looking at? We are
installing a IO-540 K1G5D 300 hp angle valve.
