The previous builder of my project primed all of the insides, and rivets before setting them. He planned (as I do) to keep the outside unpainted polished aluminum. He did however add epoxy to the rivet heads.... did he do this due to concern with the mandrel? Is the mandrel plain steel, I had thought that it was stainless?

Hi Larry !
Some builders fill the rivets to look like solids -
they think it looks better !
No need to worry about the mandrels - they are
corrosion resistant - and, if the rivets were dipped
before pulling, they will be sealed with epoxy !
