Smoky factory visit

Post by cgroves » Tue Aug 21, 2018 9:57 am

I'm out west and will be in the area of the factory on Friday and will pay them a visit. How is the smoke in the Abbotsford-Chilliwack area right now? The METARs are paining a pretty grim picture with all the forest fires.

I'm just south of the Abbotsford border and it's supposed to be getting better by Thursday.

Smoke was a little thinner on the ground by Friday. Was interesting to see the factory and meet Daryl. That monster (4000 ton I think) press is an amazing piece of equipment. Didn't get a direct picture of the press but you can see the top in this shot.

plus seeing some sweet bush wheels that where getting ready to ship to a customer.

Highlight for me, and the main purpose was to checkout the Radical.

Thanks to Daryl and crew for taking the time to show us around.

I like the color! I wonder why they’d ship bushwheels to Canada from Alaska just to ship them somewhere else. Maybe it’s a kit going overseas?

No, Murphy still owns it. In fact Daryl was working on it when we got there. It was good since we were able to talk about the best way to assemble some of the structures and some flush riveting recommendations on the wing.
