Rebel Kit for Sale

Post by phil stubley » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:56 pm

I heard about a Rebel kit for sale, but I don't have much info yet. But
thought I should let you all know in case you know somebody, (or are
ready yourself,) who wants a kit.

This kit is complete I understand, including some firewall forward
stuff, like a Lycoming mount. No engine though.

The owner has had no time to build, and now is in bad finacial trouble
and must sell. The story sounds like a giveaway, so you amy have to act
fast.

I heard about it from a chapter member who had looked at it a few years
back, and the fellow came back to him now, to see where he should go to
get it advertised. Richard then called me to let me (and all you) know
about it. I understand it is an older kit, from what Richard knows it
is probably the same vintage as mine, R302, so it would be better than
an 00- number, but needing a lot of Wayne's fixes. d:-)). There has
been no substantial work done on it, I understand, so that is good in
that there won't be any hidden problems.

If any of you are interested (Wayne?) let me know off the group, to:
phil.stubley@sympatico.ca

I hope I will have more info by then, such as the fellow's name (Craig
something, Bob P may know him) and how to contact him.

Phil

Rebel Kit For Sale

Post by Michael Chadwell » Fri Feb 17, 2012 9:03 pm

No Mike, I have not sold it yet. I really have not been trying to hard.
I can't make up my mind to keep or to sell. I posted the sell notice on
the group site but that is all. My next step was trade-a-plane. I do not
have a life of my own anymore what with work at my full time job and
then instructing at the airport here after work. Let me know if you or
anybody else is interested.

Wayne G. O'Shea

Rebel Kit for sale

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:05 am

I had a guy yesterday looking for a partial completed kit Rick. I have cc'd
him here so he can contact you direct. His name is Matt.

If you have anything closed up though he is out of luck, as he is in
Southern Ontario and the Canadian inspection program won't accept any
imports that are closed. Right now we're not even sure if we can import the
100+ hour machines from the USA because Transport Canada forgot to update
the exemption to allow this that expires on Jan 31st! The exemption to do
major repairs, modifications (or even changing a propellor) without having a
(structural) AME sign the logs has expired as well...but they can take me to
TC tribunal for that if they like!

Cheers,
Wayne

Hello,
After a long layoff I am back again. Recently I have had serious
thoughts
of selling my partially completed Rebel. It is good to read some of the
same
people that have been at it as long as I have (11 years). My life is
changing
around a bit and thought that selling my Rebel will ease my challange.
Maybe
I can refocus and get it done. One bugger is that I will probably not have
the time or resources to fly it for too long once complete. I would have
to
store and insure it also and that would claim even more cash. We'll see,
right now we are buried in snow and that doesn't help. If there are any
prospective buyers out there let me know. Located in northeast USA.
Rick

Rebel Kit for sale

Post by rebelrick » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:05 am

Wayne,
Thank for passing the info on. All of the structure is closed up so that
probably limits this Rebel to the USA. I have had 2 EAA advisor inspections.
