Ellision Throttle Body

Post by Legeorgen » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:55 pm

I have an Ellision Throttle Body for my 0320 and don't know if the Rebel has
enough head pressure to run it without a fuel pump? Gravity is so simple and
uncomplicated but a fuel pump will requires the use of a mechanical and back
up electric pump, as well as more fittings and hoses and something else to
fail. The TBI PSI is min 2 and max 6. The TBI people say use a pump but the
specs seem to say the Rebel has sufficient head pressure to operate 150% of
the fuel flow. Anyone using a TBI out there?

Ellision Throttle Body

Off the top of me head so to speak...
Four feet of vertical head gives 2 psi with water so you'd need almost 6
feet with gas so methinks you gonna need a pump unless you mount the
carb 6 feet below the bottom of the tank.

Ellision Throttle Body

Hi Ken

My quick calculations are in agreement with your numbers. A head of about
69.3" of Avgas would give you 2 PSI head pressure.

Ken,

That 6' of head pressure might be a little difficult. It might work in a
power dive, though.
