Currently in the process of tuning and ground running my 0-235 Lycoming....
But I need to know WHAT static RPM I'm supposed to be getting ???
Anyone out there got any tips ?
(P.S. It's on wheels with a Warp Drive prop and SHOULD be making around 130 HP)
Thanks

0-235 Question
0-235 Question
Rick, I have found with the Warp Drive, 3 blades, that about 300 RPM below redline is a good place to start for static RPM. Static RPM on the Warp Drive needs to be higher than you would normally find with a metal propellor, as the W.D.'s flex courser in flight. When I had the 100H.P. Lycoming in my Rebel, I set my W.D. to the same low static RPM that Sensenich spells out and the plane wouldn't even move on skis!
Hope that helps you some,

Rick and /Wendy,
Go to Lycoming web site and you will find the static Rpm's recommended for
your engine. I believe, Tony Bingelis "Firewall Forward" also gives the
Recommended static RPM for Lycoming and Continental engines.
