Elevator horn madness

Post by Jason Beall » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:48 pm

Hi all,

Am I missing something here in the construction of the
EL-413 elevator horns? I followed the plans for the
elevator horn for my super rebel and it appears like
it's too tall? The plans say it's 3 inches tall, and
that's the height of the EL-413 blank I received from
Murphy.

I have included a picture taken with my digital camera
after cutting the horn blank to it's raw dimensions.

Any guidance before I go butcher it up would be
greatly appreciated.

-Jason

Jason,
Had the same problem, so I cut the bracket down to fit the elevator horn.

Hi Jason, when Mike Kimball and I did his we took
the rough blank like you have it and drew a
radius around the horn on it with a pen, then
drew a line down to the bottom corner from that.
After roughing it down to the new lines we
attached it then used a file to bring it down
flush and smooth.
