(RE-sent with corrected subject !)

Thank <you> Rick !

For those who couldn't make it to the Rebel Builders Meeting,
we had a good turnout, with 5 fly-ins and a bunch of drive-in visitors.
Jack Weibe and Les McInnis showed off their Rebels on Amphibs, and
the sunny weather brought Drew D. in his shiny Rebel, and Curt M.
and Dave Fife flew up from Michigan - spring must be here !
A big <Thank You> to Curt - he brought along a composite tail spring
from the first production run for me - a perfect fit !! (The later
ones were too thick - but thanks to all those who offered !)

Dave Fife updated us on his progress with halogen landing
lights that will be built into his Hoerner wing tips - and several
builders took their beautiful new wing and tail tips home !
(Including me !! :-) ) Dave has lots of work ahead, so get
your orders in now if you want those tips this year !

Rick F. did a well-received presentation on how he did his swing-up
doors, complete with photos and CAD drawings. (If you ask him nicely,
he might provide the drawings, or at least the AutoCad files ... ;-) )

Wayne O. followed Rick, with a talk on how he built his doors
to swing BOTH ways ! Got a few rude chuckles ! ;-) He also brought
along some of his huge selection of parts - the clip-nuts were popular,
as usual... Brent A. sold off the last of his Halon extinguishers
- some happy builders went home with bargains ! And we had our
usual draw - for a Murphy coffee mug, and Murphy hat - 2 more happy
Rebel builders !

Several Super Rebel builders were seen exchanging ideas- looks
like there will be a fair number of these great airplanes flying in
Ontario soon !!

We hope everyone had a good time, and picked up a few tips
& tricks ! They sure made a good dent in the donuts and coffee !!
Good thing, too, or <I'd> have to eat 'em !! ;-) Some of us were
still hungry enough to do justice to pizza & beer afterwards !

Hope more of you can make it to the next one ! NOTE: the
date is Sunday, June 10th - we had to move it, as May is filled,
with the Toronto Aviation Show, Mother's Day, and the long weekend ...

See you on the 10th !!
.....bobp & Anna

PS
There was some discussion about insurance rates - for those
in Canada, be sure to call Bill Cameron, at Rhodes & Williams
(905) 513-7600 <FIRST>, for a quote. I just renewed my Rebels, and
saved over $800 under what the RAA insurance would have cost, and
got all of the coverage benefits that RAA offers ! If you ask
RAA first, the underwriter won't give anyone else a quote, so you'll
have difficulty getting competitive prices ! Bill has always
managed to get us preferred rates for Rebels, for 10 years now !

Hi Guys

As Bobp promised, I have uploaded 4 photographs of the gullwing doors.
They can be found in the Rebel Fuselage section.

Thanks for a great meeting once again Bobp & Annap.

Rickp :-)=)
