The Super Rebel Home
This week, a local family began building my hangar at the Bowling Green, MO Airport. It is a 50 x 50 pole barn type with steel siding, and a Cool-Air Horizontal Stacker Door. I'll post a few pictures as it goes up. This has been the culmination of a several year long search for a location. The Bowling Green Airport is part of the FAA Airport Program, where the city receives money to help develop the airport. But, that also brings a certain amount of oversight and bureaucracy. So, after a year of negotiation, I signed a ground lease and am building a hangar that will revert to the city in 25 years. This turned out to be the least expensive option I had available. There's more room than I need, so if you are passing through, let me know and I'll tuck you in for the night.

Today they poured the floor. 32 cubic yards of concrete in hangar itself.

Next time I go back to my class reunion at the Academy in Mexico I'll have to look you up Jerry. We used to play Bowling Green in sports.

Progress. The crew took last week off as we were waiting on trusses and steel siding. Today, it really took shape.

The Hangar Door arrived yesterday. I borrowed a forklift from the local crop duster and quickly got it unloaded. It is a horizontal stacker door from Cool-Air Inc. Siding is going on now.

My wife, Ruthie the Riveter tries her hand at building hangar doors! Mind you it was 94 degrees -- ugh.
We also got the track up. Putting the hardware (including door hinges) is taking longer than I expected.

Re: The Super Rebel Home
This was day three on door construction. I’ve basically done everything myself, except for 3 hours this afternoon when I had help to lift the panels onto the track. I have all the hinges on the aft side of the panels, but only two on the front side. Tomorrow is a day off – it’s been 94 degrees out there. Then Friday, I should finish all the hardware/rollers etc. and be ready for my crew to put the sheeting on next week.

Well, last Monday we drove the last screw. Door is complete, and the electric utility installed the meter. Now, to get #093 SR complete! In the meantime, if you are passing through, I have space.
