[rebel-ramble] Ramble update

The Ramblers are safe and sound at Lyncrest with two camping overnight,
three couples bedded down at a local motel, and another couple staying with
friends. We had a great afternoon and evening with terriffic weather. They
passed through customs at Piney without incident after a short flight from
Thief River Falls. Had to delay their departure from Piney slightly to
allow a small system to pass by and then made the 45 minute flight to
Lyncrest in a flight of four, arriving about 1:00 pm. We got them tied down
and fed and then had a most enjoyable afternoon and evening with a big BBQ
supper. We even had some media attention with photos and an interview for
the Winnipeg Free Press as well as a TV interview with Bob Patterson for the
CTV which is supposed to air tonight at 11:30.

All the planes are in hangars for the night as the forecast calls for some
isolated thunder storms overnight. The forecast for tomorrow is for fine
weather. We will have a breakfast for them in the morning and will send
them on their way westward to Killarny.

The ramblefone was updated this morning - Monday. The group stopped in
Killarney and overnighted in Carlyle last nite. When this ramblefone
message was posted, the weather for Monday flying out of Carlyle was
questionable, so Bob was uncertain about making any progress today.
Judging from the weather charts they are directly under some weather
that is moving east at about 20 knots - likely to clear by tomorrow.

Have a good trip to High River this morning Brian. I will be down there
working on that seat back so will perhaps see you at the B&B later.

The ramblers spent Monday in Carlyle Saskatchewan as a rain day. They
enjoyed just hanging out and visiting the assorted restaurants in town.
Tomorrow they will try for Medicine Hat.

Tom Inglis is in Estevan by car - his plane in Carlyle. Hopes to rejoin
the group tomorrow.

Expecting High River by noon Wednesday and departure for Golden after
fueling up.

The ramblers arrived at Medicine Hat on Tuesday and stayed overnight.
They plan to arrive High River by noon Wed July 11, then push on toward
Vernon in the afternoon. The phone message may be updated this morning
and Gail will take over issuing this note today.

Brian B. is staying at a B&B in High River and Ron S. is with Garry and
Gail at Priddis awaiting the ramblers arrival at High River.

and are now in Vernon. They had great weather through the rocks.

They had an interesting tour of the Murphy plant today. Tom and Brian
have headed off to Vancouver Island. Next stop is Arlington tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

Just heard from Garry. He and Ron arrived in Arlington this morning.
The rest left later and are now there too. Ken has his daughter with
him now. Ron and Garry are going to Sequim, Wash. tomorrow to spend the
night. It is Ron's home. The rest will be in Arlington tomorrow. Tom
is still on the Island. All are leaving on Sunday to start the trip to
Osh Kosh. Sounds like they have enjoyed themselves so far!

Heard from Garry this aft. and he and Ron were in Shelby, Montana. The
other planes hadn't arrived quite yet, but they were in radio contact
and were to land soon. There is a casino there, so they were going to
have a good old time tonight. Off to North Dakota tomorrow.

The Rambler's are all in Devil's Lake, North Dakota tonight. They are
staying at the Super 8. Sounds like they had a couple of stops on the
way. Tomorrow they will split up, some going to Osh Kosh and some back
to Ontario.

All the Ramblers are in Ashland, Wisconsin tonight. Of the 5 planes,
Bob and Anna, Tom and Ken and Susan are starting back to Ontario
tomorrow. Two planes are off to Osh Kosh, Garry and Ron, and Peter and
Jim.

Garry and Ron are in Osh Kosh tonight. They have settled in and have
their camp set up. They were the first homebuilt there. The other
Ramblers have started home, and are in Manistique tonight, then off to
their various homes tomorrow depending on the weather.
