Bahamas - and Sun 'n Fun trip !!!

Post by Bob Patterson » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

Hi Bob !

I'm sure there will be more volunteers to fly south as
the time gets closer. I'm going to be on my own for this year's
SnF, and might even be a candidate to fly with you myself !! :-)

Will add updates later in the year ....

Thanks Horst !

There'll be lots of fun trips in 2004 !! We're working away
on Ramble 2004 - possibly heading North (& South) this time ....

There's a possibility our Rebel will be back from painting
in time for a "Rebel Run to Sun 'n Fun" !! The trip to the Bahamas
sounds great, but a bit too soon for us ... Anybody else interested ???

Contact Horst if you want to explore the Carribean !! :-)

All the best for 2004 !!

More Ramble news to follow as soon as we have it !!!!!

PS: Phil and I plan to fly to the Bahamas in March / April with the
Buttonville Flying Club. Anyone interested in coming along? Let us know
what
you have in store for the Summer.

Bahamas - and Sun 'n Fun trip !!!

I have flown to the Bahamas many times, including trips in a couple of
Cherokees down as far as St. Lucia, so the Murphy should have no problem.
West End is only 60 nautical from the Florida coast, though we usually go
further out - to Marsh Harbour or North Eleuthera. These islands sure make
for a nice change of pace after the mainland. If anybody's interested, I
can supply some advice. But Bob, you're going to need a transponder for
sure. The US really don't appreciate you penetrating the ADIZ without one.

The Bahamas tourist board have lots of info. specific to private flying.

This sounds like a perfect trip for an open cockpit bi-plane! I'd love to
join the trip
Cheers
