Ramblers Depart Lyncrest

Post by Jack Neima » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

Hello from Winnipeg!

Well the Ramblers have come and gone. They arrived from Ashland via Piney MN late Friday afternoon and after getting settled in they had a nice dinner out followed by a good night's sleep either in the nearby Super 8 or with billets. Saturday morning everyone visited the Western Canada Aviation Museum and the afternoon was spent with media interviews and exploring the Lyncrest airport. We had a great BBQ party in the evening followed by a campfire. The Ramblers, and some of their hosts, camped on the airport on Saturday. About 6:00 am a thunderstorm blew through causing everyone to scramble to pack tents and get in out of the wet. The skies cleared after about an hour and everyone enjoyed a hearty breakfast. The Ramblers departed westbound (except two retuning east) at about 10:00. It was a great visit and we enjoyed hosting them. We wish them the best as the adventure continues.

Check out a couple of pictures that we uploaded into the files archive. They're in the "Flight Seeing" directory.

Until next time.....

Ramblers Depart Lyncrest

Anybody know if Bob P or any of the Ramblers are carrying a cell phone. I
think they are supposed to hit Chilliwack about Thursday or so, and thought
I would try to meet up with them.

Ramblers Depart Lyncrest

Post by Mike Davis » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

You might try calling the factory to see if Bob has contacted them with his
schedule. If they're planning anything at the factory I would imagine he'd
let them know when to expect them.

Ramblers Depart Lyncrest

Post by rebel » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

I spoke to Colleen at the factory last week, but things were very hectic
there with projects and preparations for Arlington, so they weren't planning
anything. And this week they will also be in Arlington. I would expect Bob
to check in with them, though, when he arrives, so may try to leave a
message.

Ramblers Depart Lyncrest

Post by D&RGourlie » Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:46 am

The Ramblers arrived in Vernon earlier tonight. We fed them and got them
down to the beach to camp tonight. They are planning to leave for
Chilliwack tomorrow by noon, and then on to Arlington the next day, I think.
