[rebel-builders] Jesse's plane

Post by Jesse Jenks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:41 pm

Hi Rebecca,
It is an O-320. The jury is still out on cooling. I kept all CHTs under about 375 for the whole flight except maybe the initial climb when I wasn't watching. It was a cool day (for California) so I was expecting a bit lower temps. Engine is a fresh overhaul, so not broken in. Hopefully the temps will come down a bit as it breaks in. I built the cowling with a big outlet area, so kind of surprised to have any issue at all. On the other hand I have no other experience with this sort of thing so my expectations and assumptions could be wrong. Oil temp was steady at 180-190.

Cool video Jesse! Your cowling looks exactly like ours. How do you
find the cooling? Do you have an 0320?
