G'day Tim.

Get your finger out and get moving. It's not all that hard! Just think what
that first flight will be like!

I must admit that I took a disciplined approach and worked consistently. It
seemed to take forever, but looking back now, it does not seem that bad.

Keep at it!

Ian congratulations.

I am moving so slow on my construction that I get discouraged with myself.
Then, a nice email like yours comes in that gives additional motivation.

I'm really enjoying the Rebel.

Congratulations, Ian. I remember that feeling well, and it's great to see another one flying.

It's just buying those US$'s at 1.61 Cdn each that really HURTS!!! (but I think our dollars are fairly close to yours!)

Was going to take the wife somewhere for our 20th Anniversary in August and had the Netherlands or Maui lined up in the back of my head, but looks like just a short trip in the motorhome at this point instead. Toooooo much going on around here and also with our Plastics plant.

Some day we will get there (I hope!)!

Come on down! You have earned a fly!

Make the time. You would enjoy a tour to the land of OZ. It is a great place, and it's really cheap to visit if you are spending US$.

Ian Donaldson

That's great Ian!!!

Another place in the world, with a flying Rebel, for me to stick a pin in my world map for a possible visit (if I can ever find the time)!!

G'day Wayne

The US greenback buys about 2 of our dollars, and as we have a comparable standard of living you can see that you could have a great holiday at a remarkably cheap rate.

Australia is a huge island which extends from the equator down to 40o of latitude. We have humid tropics down to cool rainforests, and lots of desert in the middle! Something for everyone and quite unique.

Go ahead, be brave jump a jet and come over! You might just see kangaroos in the main streets or Koalas up every gum tree!

Remember that I sent you $20 for the taxi fare from the airport!

G'day Roger

Thanks for your thoughts.

My Rebel is nothing much to look at. I painted it bright white without any
decoration at all. I was keen to get it in the air, and could not make up my
mind as to what colours or patterns I would like. However when time permits
and I have made a choice, I will add some colours.

I must admit that if the Rebel was made of smooth fibreglass, it would be
easy to get computer cut colour splashes and logos
and fit them. However vinyl is very difficult to stick on over those rivets.

I still want to put a red Kangaroo on the tail. Those of you that look at
the big jets at the airport will know the QANTAS logo.
I don't think that I will be sued for breach of copyright!

My wife said that she would only fly in the Rebel if it was white, its name
started with 7, and it had a flush toilet! I'm still working on that flush
toilet! But then again if she doesn't want to come along I can at least have
some quiet time.

However I named my Rebel "Proctalgia"
I think that those who have a some medical knowledge will see the humour. If
the meaning eludes anyone just let me know and all will be revealed. It has
caused some amusement at our airfield.

Ian Donaldson

The more i se it the more it looks kinda like an old Cessna 170..Maybe
it just the silver.

Id like to see its perf data next to a Tri-Pacer and the 170 just for fun.

Anyone ever heard of the Wren that used to be made in Ak? Good STOL. And
i think there was an Artic Tern also.

A friend of mine used to own a Wren. It is basically a highly modified Cessna 182. The wings were very heavily modified and a canard was installed similar to the Todd Peterson modification.

The Arctic Tern is a revamp of the Interstate Cadet. It had a short production stint in Anchorage, AK by Arctic Aircraft Co.where it was modified and then re-named "Arctic Tern". The type certificate and tooling was sold, and is now being built in West Lebanon, NH by Interstate Aircraft Co. They have a web site at http://www.interstateaircraft.com/index.html
