[rebel-builders] Flap motor

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:07 pm

I have the Firgelli Automation
http://www.firgelliauto.com/product_inf ... cts_id=106 set up
on my Moose. Love it. Same actuator as used on RV-10 I believe. I can
send pictures if anyone wants them...I also bought their mounting bracket.

You might want to look at what I did on my Elite. I believe the pics are
still in the archives.

Flap motor and drive mechanism are from a Cadillac power seat system (which
is made of aluminum, surprisingly).

[rebel-builders] Flap motor

Post by Ted Waltman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:34 pm

I could look it up, but I'm quite sure 3" stroke. If you put the motor
where I did, you only need a couple of inches travel for full flap. Pics
posted to area 104 S/M-Flap.

[rebel-builders] Flap motor

Post by Ron Shannon » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:34 pm

I have a custom electric flap setup on my Rebel, using a linear actuator
from Danaher, which is working well. I'm very pleased with the controller
from Aircraft Extras, which includes some special functionality for reflex
positioning. Several photos are on my site (http://n254mr.com -- search for
"actuator") in addition to some Danaher data sheets in the "Library"
section.

Might be worth looking at the aluminum body linear electric actuators
that Princess Auto sells now.
