Hi All,
I have been trying to figure out the parts that make up the LG43 assembly. I
have kit #56, with some older parts, some new parts and some that don't even
belong to the Rebel...??? If someone has a clear picture of their bungee
gear, specifically the assembly in question it would help me understand
where these various sized tubes and pieces fit. Some of my parts are not
labeled making things challenging. Also I have two 1/2 inch tubes labeled LG
31. Cant find them in the parts list.

Thanks Walter, confirms my thoughts on the LG31. Unfortunately could not
open your file. I have the latest version of section 15.1 Slide Tube
Assembly, but given my older parts and no labeling, the diagrams and the
parts don't match. Specifically figure 15.1.4 indicates LG43, but seems to
be made up of many parts and doublers. The only parts I can easily identify
are the LG4 and 5. I do have two long tubes (with smaller doubler tubes
inside) marked LG37 which seem to have the hole indicated in the figure just
mentioned.

[rebel-builders] LG 43 Assembly - Landing Gear
Hi Roland !
You should check the size of your LG-44 .... Older Rebels
had lighter gear, as they were only 1,450 lb gross !
The lighter gear might be OK if you were using a light
engine like the Rotax 912, but you definitely should have
the heavier gear for an O-320, as you were planning.
I'm not positive, but I think the new LG-44's are 1 1/8"
square, and the old ones were 1" --- can anyone confirm ??
Memory isn't so good these days .... ;-)

Bob/Roland the "newer".. circa 1992/3.. are 1-1/4" square tube x 0.125

Thanks Wayne and all,
That seems to make sense. Upon further digging I came across a set of
retrofit plans Murphy put out to retrofit the gear to 1650, which identifies
most of the parts I have. Sometimes I feel like I'm building a 55, 56, 57
Chevy ( aka Johnny Cash).
Wayne if you could send me the info on the die springs, price etc. offline.
I lost the info you sent me previously.

Bob/Roland the "newer".. circa 1992/3.. are 1-1/4" square tube x 0.125
thick. At the top a short section.. approximately 6"s long.. of 1" x .125
square tube is inserted and bolted to the top of the leg to adapt it to fit
in between the fus-2 gear attach tabs.

Memory isn't so good these days .... ;-)

I have been trying to figure out the parts that make up the LG43
assembly.
I have kit #56, with some older parts, some new parts and some that don't
even belong to the Rebel...??? If someone has a clear picture of their
bungee gear, specifically the assembly in question it would help me
understand where these various sized tubes and pieces fit. Some of my
parts are not labeled making things challenging. Also I have two 1/2 inch
tubes labeled LG 31. Cant find them in the parts list.

[rebel-builders] LG 43 Assembly - Landing Gear
I have extra of the now standard LG-44 and LG-26 if you need it
Roland. I found it hard to source except for a lucky find with the only
down side of needing to buy 16 foot sticks. LG-44 is 1.25" square x
1/8" wall 6061T6, rounded corners. Don't know about the LG-31 1/2"
tubes. How long are they?
BTW, yes, I've been scarce on the list as well as my Rebel due to too
much work (but hey, same pay!) over the last several months. Seems
time availability should start to improve a little tho. Good!
Cheers,
-Ben 496R
