I have a 360 Lyc powered Rebel on amphibs, and after 10 years of flying it,
still can't find a better airplane I would choose. When comparing to other
airplanes, many things stand out with the Rebel. It has nice flying
qualities, and has great take-off/climb performance without a big cruise
speed compromise. Most similar airplanes are good at one of these, but not
both. It has a low empty weight, huge cabin for baggage and big pilots,
large range of engines, and yes, much prefer the aluminum (I have also built
another fabric airplane).

And this email list is great for support, mods, and advice for building and
flying your airplane.

Walter

Hi Mike,
I'm new to the group. Started by looking @ Rebel kits... sent Bob an e-mail

inquiry about prices for kits, when they're going to have a batch of Rebel's
going
down the assembly line, info.... etc.
Got a nice detailed response.

I'm not a pilot, but have many friends who are - one currently building a
Bearhawk. I do favor taildraggers and like the idea of aluminum. Lot's of
remote
and dirt strips around here...
I live in Kenai. I understand that you're a Fairbanks resident.
Any other Murphy owners in the state?
What's been your experience with these aircraft?

Thanks for any info...
Pete

Hello, Pete!

My wife Deb and I live in Chickaloon. We are building a rebel but won't fly
until spring (I've been throwing out the second week of May lately). Our
plane is farly complete, eng's hung and partially wired. The panel is
almost finished as well. I have flown in rebels a few times and thought it
was awesome. Looking forward to flying my own. I(f you ever get up toward
Anchorage we are about 1.5 hrs NE. Craig 355-6290

Thanks for the reply Craig.
I'll keep your kind offer in mind.... sometime I'll have to get up and
east towards Chickaloon. I've never really been there... just passed
through several times. Seems that I've got a friend from up there
somewhere... Jon White. Good man - part time in Mexico too.
It's awesome that you're getting close enough to be taking first flight in
Spring 2011!!
This I gotta see.
Take care
Pete
