[rebel-builders] Engine mount

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:23 pm

A dynafocal ring alone from ACS was $220 last month.. doubt you're gonna get
that mount for $400 from MAM...but I could be wrong.

Jay.. what mount and engine do you have now? Conical (straight bolts) or
dynafocal (bolts point towards engines centre)?

If you are just looking to upgrade your engine from O-235 / O-290 to an
O-320.. they will all fit the same mounts, unless you change case styles..
ie conical to dynafocal or visa versa

[rebel-builders] Engine mount

Post by Charlie Eubanks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:23 pm

While you guys are talking about engine mounts maybe you can answer a
question for me. I have Murphy's Dynafocal mount for my Lyc. O-235- L2C but
I need the part number for either the Barry or the Lord Dynafocal mounts. I
assume that part number is specified by Murphy so I just sent them an e-mail
but have not received their reply as yet.

[rebel-builders] Engine mount

Post by Jay Yau » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:23 pm

Hi Ron and Wayne:

Ron, can you update me with your engine mount, my email: jayyau28@hotmail.com.

Wayne, the reason I'm thinking to try another mount is because my oil filler tube is too close to the mount (almost touching), which made me think the mount could be bent due to the ground loop by the builder @36 hours since new. Mine is dynafocal mount, the bolts are pointed to the center of the engine.

Do they have different dynafocal mount like Van's RV? Van's has dynafocal1 and dynafocal2, both point to the center of engine but with different angle.

Since mine is a replacement, it has to be the a identical mount. Thank you for pointing me the direction.

I'll be heading to Alaska this weekend, you guys are welcome to follow me through my web site.

Jay

Jay,

I have ordered one from Murphy. I have not received a price yet but it was about $400.

Post by Ken Lehman » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:23 pm

With the power of a decent o-320 I'd rather save the weight on the nose
than take a second off the takeoff performance. THe Rebel is not the
high speed cruiser that can gain a huge amount from a C/S prop.
