[rebel-builders] bell crank CC-47

Post by craig » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:15 pm

Hi Ben,

We just went through this so it's fresh; the short arm points forward. This
has been confirmed by MAM. Also, in case you haven't done it yet or seen
the posts, the aft mixer is not symetrical. There's a shot in the manual
that shows how it mounts.

I see a few questions in the archive but no answers. The aileron bell
crank
just left of the control column: Does the short arm get mounted forward?
Dimensions look like that is what is intended, but ???

And maybe this just is a matter of frustration ...next getting to the W-62
round spacers above and below the bell crank bearing. If MAM can supply
3/4" pieces with a 1/4" hole, couldn't they as easily have supplied two
3/8"
pieces with 5/16" holes? True, I've got 20 minutes to cut it roughly in
half,
sand the face smooth enough, and drill it out, but after scratching my
head
over lack of info on the bell crank, then this ...it makes me check my
patience a bit.
-Ben

Ben,

You might as well throw your patience out the door....... cause you'll be
well out of patience before your done the airplane.

Cheers,
Jeff

PS: Just ask your question on the builder's site and save your patience for
when you really need it.

I know you're right about that Jeff. I might have thrown the whole thing out
the door long ago except that a) i'm pretty stubborn and b) heard way too
many people having too much fun with these planes once they're done. Last
night's post was a need to vent after a minor thing (but in a string of other
things). I used to defend the manual, but nah, it's got problems, and lends
toward the educational experience, eh? :) Thank Goodness for you all here
on the list!
Cheers,
-Ben
