Yep, what Wayne said. I think it says somewhere in the manual that it is cut from "stock".
I have my manual here...I'll see if I can find it.

I suspect the .063 is a convenience.. not a necessity. .050 isn't used
anywhere else in the Rebel/Elite or Moose.. so it's an odd ball to stock.
.063 on the other hand... lots of scraps around ! For what it's doing in the
Rebel.. .032 or .040 would be plenty.

Kevin,

FWIW the EL-35 in the Newer kits are made from .063 6061-T6 (older kits
.050
like Wayne says). Your a/c, your choice.

Cheers,
Jeff

The plate was not in the box. It will be a simple thing to make, just
needed to get an idea of
what

One that I have, still boxed from MAM, is .050.

Kevin..is the backing plate not in the trim box?? Every kit I've
received
had the EL-35 and 36's packed in the servo box.

[rebel-builders] trim servo backing plate

Post by Jeff Micheal » Sun Feb 19, 2012 6:15 pm

If .032 or .040 was good enough from the original .050 then why would MAM
upgrade it to .063 instead of going down in material thickness. Lighter
would be better even if it's just going from .050 to .040, but then I was
told never to downgrade in material thickness either.

Just my insight opinion.

Cheers,
Jeff

I suspect the .063 is a convenience.. not a necessity. .050 isn't used
anywhere else in the Rebel/Elite or Moose.. so it's an odd ball to stock.
.063 on the other hand... lots of scraps around ! For what it's doing in
the
Rebel.. .032 or .040 would be plenty.
