Just FYI. Several years ago during the building of my project, I was told by two very knowledgeable persons that some of the MAM wheels were not machined down just quite enough so that the tire bead would properly set in the correct position on the wheel, causing some problems with the tires rotating on the wheels. I assembled my tires and wheels and thought that they were seated properly, no problems. However, these two knowledgeable persons inspected my tires/wheels and found otherwise. I got a replacement set from MAM. So far, no problems such as blowouts, stem ripoffs, etc., but I think one side is slipping just a bit over the last 70 hours, most likely due to a slightly lower than optimal tire pressure and landing on pavement.

20psi did not for it for me. I run a touch higher as in 22-24psi for
600x6 tires for operating off pavement to help prevent tire rotation on
the rim. I have not found any certified aircraft running this size tire
that specifies any lower although I only asked local cessna and piper
guys. Or it could be technique but I believe I have stronger brakes than
Wayne.
