I guess this message is to Al.

We plan on using the teleflex cable for our flap system. What length cable
did you install? About 14' long?

Do you have a part number for it?

We like the idea of eliminating the cable run from the middle of the fus. and
not going thru the roof. We will br putting in a floor in the back for some
extra storage. We ran all the controll cables througt the bulk heads so that
they will be under the new floor.

Thanks

Steve,
The cable I used is about 14'. I can't see the numbers on the cable that is
in the airplane, but the numbers on a longer cable in my shop are "Morse
C301947-3-264in 48411", the 264in is the length of the cable.

Steve,
I have no source for the cables, my son gave me the ones that I have. They
came out of a new boat, I don't remember the reason something like different
engine different controls. The brackets that attach the cable sleeve to the
airplane came from Doc Freeman's Marine Supply in Seattle. Boat Fix should
have all the same stuff and the prices look very competitive.

Post by Dale Fultz » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:13 am

Hi Al, How much movement is there at the rod that attaches to your flap
rod at the top off the bellcrank( how much does the round rod move in inches
from zero degrees to full flaps) I have some ideas for it but need know
about how far it moves. I don't have my wings installed yet to get a
measurement. If you don't understand what I mean e-mail me and I will try
to explain what I need. Thanks Dale 033SR-Moose

Al Paxhia

Moose Flaps

Post by Al Paxhia » Sat Feb 18, 2012 10:13 am

Dale,
The exact measurement is buried under headliner and floor so I don't know
off hand, it is the same as MAM's design. If you measure at the Johnson bar
you should get the answer. I tried to keep the movements the same at the
bellcrank as the movement on the Johnson bar, the bellcrank only changes the
direction of the action. I wanted pull on the cable to deploy flaps and push
to retract them. The air loads and spring help retract.

Hi Al, How much movement is there at the rod that attaches to your flap
rod at the top off the bellcrank( how much does the round rod move in
inches
from zero degrees to full flaps) I have some ideas for it but need know
about how far it moves. I don't have my wings installed yet to get a
measurement. If you don't understand what I mean e-mail me and I will
try
to explain what I need. Thanks Dale 033SR-Moose

When the flaps of the moose are installed is the aft 2/3rds up 5 degrees? And forward section of the flaps level with the bottom of the wings?

Thanks

It looks like all I had to do is adjust the CC149 centre arm. Works great and the numbers ( degrees ) are perfect.

Thanks
All
