[rebel-builders] Windshield to Canada ???

Post by Jeff Micheal » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:49 pm

Roland,

You can always use UPS, they do their own brokerage. Otherwise, have it
shipped to a carrier destination on the USA side, then go pick it up
yourself and clear Canadian Customs.

(You could always ask Wayne O if you could have it shipped with his order).

Cheers,
Jeff

Canadian Brokers only deal with commercial accounts not personal, so
shipping it direct may be difficult. Does anyone know of a easy way to get
this from PA to London Ontario? There must be others in Ontario who are
bringing in windshields.

Roland,

If you have the PO Number for your windshield order (PO given by MAM), just
contact LP Aero to see if it's been shipped. Don't harass them, but I'm
sure you could inquire at least once.

Cheers,
Jeff

Roland-

I live in New York between Rochester and Buffalo. If you want, you can have
it shipped to me and we can arrange a time to meet. I will be in the
Buffalo / Kenmore area over Christmas too, so that might make your drive a bit
shorter still.

Contact me off list if you are interested,

All best!

Wayne, you should know the routine by now..... lol. Maybe LP is getting all
the individual orders out first (keeping majority of the people happy), I'm
sure the LP Santa will get you yours before Xmas.

[rebel-builders] Windshield to Canada ???

Post by Wayne G. O'Shea » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:49 pm

Yep.. I know the routine all too well, after 16+ years !! It took 11 days to
get my pallet of parts off the shipping dock as well.. but at least Tyler
got them made and they are on their way.

Can't get any joy on my windshield order that's paid in full though.. not
even an answer from George. Maybe it's my green tint and they're getting
made last??

[rebel-builders] Windshield to Canada ???

Post by Drew Dalgleish » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:50 pm

Hi Roland I'm just north of you in Centralia Ont. When I needed a
windshield a couple years ago I had LP ship it to the UPS store in Port
Huron. They charge $10 to accept a package. Make sure to take your bill
with you showing the GST paid and customs should let you right through. BTW
the box they use is huge either take a van or unpack it and throw the box
in the dumpster behind the store.

I believe the UPS store in Port huron is actually privately owned. It used
to be called the box store. I've had quite a bit of stuff shipped there
including my windshield and prop. I've always paid $10 regardless of size
although nothing big for a couple years and prices always seem to go up. :(
