Its probably better to use cable that is not as strong as the fittings -
instead of failing catastrophically it simply stretches and continues to
provide some structural integrity. In my water loop, which ended up as a
slide to the right, the bottom left to top right wire stretched a fair
bit but kept it together rather than allowing a collapse which would
have been catastrophic.

1x19 is a lot stiffer and would be a bear to work with. Just my 2cents
worth.

Yes stainless is interesting stuff. As I recall it will start stretching
(permanently deforming) at about 40% of its ultimate strength and it
rapidly gets stronger as it stretches and work hardens. The ultimate
strength or breaking point of the stronger 1x19 is similar to the
fittings so I was curious. You have given me confidence that the 7x19 is
adequate and Si has confirmed that it is much easier to work with.

Hi Ken I would expect the minimum bend radius of 1x19 to be bigger than a
normal tang as well.
