Firewell caulk

Post by Charlie Eubanks » Sun Feb 19, 2012 5:29 pm

Hello All
I am getting ready to rivet Fus-10 & 70 to the firewall I was wondering what
is the best thing (fireproof) to use to caulk the large gaps between the
tabs on the firewall?

Charlie:
You can purchase fire-retardent caulk at most home building
supply stores.
When I sealed my firewall I first made 4 stripes out of aluminum
about 1/2" wide and 9" long and cut them on a curve that would
match the corners of the firewall, then rivited them in place
covering about 90% of the large holes in the corners. This made a
much nicer sealing job.
