Anyone know of a source in Canada for the 6402 rivets? Looks like my kit is
short. Not sure how many yet. Will have a better idea after closing up the
rear skins on the second float. Other one is completely done. Trying to find
some and at least have the whereabouts before panic sets in when I come up
short. Thanks to those who respond.

Also Textron, 87 Disco, Mississauga 416-679-0622

I usually deal with Judy and they will ship or let you pick up any
quantity you want.

I have closed the first float and the last bottom skin is being deburred
to go on the second float. While I was at first delighted to see the
bottom of the rivet box but it sure looks like I'm going to need more as
well. So if you actually count how many rivets a forward bottom skin
takes, please share ;)

Ken
I used just over 3 pounds of rivets for the front bottom skin section.
Roughly 35 rivets to an ounce. I think I have about 4 1/2 lbs left to do
both the rear and front bottoms on the 2nd float and I think I'll be
short.

560 rivets per lb. then

If you have the stringers already riveted as I do:

720 rivets more per front skin
280 per rear skin
40 for spray rail

=2040= 3.7 lb.
just over .7 lb more if you don't have the stringers on =4.4lb

Wow that is close. 4.5 lb might just do it Steve ;)

Mine is also too close for comfort. Think I'll need a few more. Probably
about the same amount that I've wasted in the build process ;(

Hi Ken You can use regular avex rivets 1410? along the outside edge as both
ends of the rivet are outside the float if you run short. It would also be
real easy to use solid rivets in the same place if you have or can borrow a
squezzer.

Hi Ken
Had 2 lb 14 oz left after rear bottom skins so will be short. Ordered 300 from
Mattic in Calgary at 8.70 pr 100 just so I won't be short.
