Thanks Wayne

I didn't know Philippe had contacted you about them. He's had a FUS 5
collapse and is grounded till it's repaired.
He was away in Africa with work last week but he's home again now so I'll
contact him tomorrow to see if he received the details alright.

Hi Nig !

If the bolts are the same spacing as the Rebel - which I believe
they are .... we've been using stock 9044 rings for years. MUCH
easier than trying to pull that long piece of bungee around !!

These 9044's are stock for Piper products - 9/16" thick, and 4.4"
ID. We use 2 per side, each, front & back, for a total of 8, for
lighter Rebels, and add one more on top of the others for heavier
Rebels - a total of 12. They are available from Aircraft Spruce,
and others - pays to shop, as prices vary widely !

The trick is to put one over the top bolt, inside the penny
washer, then hook a 'come-along', or nylon cargo strap with
a ratchet, to the bottom end. The other end of the strap
goes to the bottom of the gear leg tube. Just ratchet until
the bungee is past the bottom bolt, and use a large screwdriver
to lever it onto the bolt. Top bolt faces rear, bottom bolt front ...

Or .... you can just buy a length of 1/2" bungee & try
to wrestle it around the bolts, tightening after each wrap.
It is difficult & dangerous, and usually loosens after a few
landings, necessitating re-tensioning .... :-(

for
the undercarriage)

Thanks
