Welcome, Stephen:
Don't be afraid to ask any questions here. Stupid or otherwise. I do.
I live in Iowa, and have kit #808. My brother and I are building this
project, and we have the tail feathers done, the flaperons (no cover yet)
and are making good progress on the right wing.
About the flaperons: As you build, make sure that there is no twist built
into the structure. I had a bit of trouble with that, but we got things back
under control. Also, be very aware of how you are mounting the nose ribs to
the spar. The manual is less than a bit clear about this. Just be sure that
you check how the nose ribs fit the top and bottom of the spar before you
drill.
And watch your fingers. The flaperons are where I drilled my finger with the
bit when it poked through the metal. (natures way of helping me remember)
Good luck.

Stephen,
Welcome to the list, and to Rebel building. I'm only about 25 miles S. of
you in Sequim, WA. My project, which I also got when it was partially
completed three years ago, is well along now. You're more than welcome to
come visit any time.

Hi
Having purchased rebel kit no 779 partially completed I figured I would
introduce myself and ask a couple hopefully not too stupid questions. My
name is Stephen Byers, I am a 27 year old tool and die maker/ machinist in
Victoria B.C. My aviation experiance is extreamly limited so I'm on a steep
learning curve spending a fair bit of time pouring over the archives and any
other info I can get my hands on.
My rebel has one wing mostly built as well as most of the tail. I have
started with the flaperons as they are the easiest part left to learn on,
and they are looking good (as far as I know anyways)
I was wondering if there are any other rebel builders near victoria as I
would really like to see how others do things and hopefully a further
progressed rebel then my own.
thanks
