[rebel-builders] metal cowling for rebel

WALLACE: One place you can look at some pictures of building a metal cowl is
Roger Hoffman's website at:

http://tincantimes.dcsol.com/ContentsPage.htm

Scroll down to the second from the bottom. Roger is using a Continental
IO-240 engine.

If you need to contact Roger with any questions his e-mail address is:

rognal@dcsol.com

Hope this helps.

I currently have a cowling made of fiberglass.looks OK but I do not like it
because it makes access very difficult. Being an old supercub pilot I
believe you should be abel to access the engine quickly and easly. So if any
one knows of a good metal cowling for my rebelI could sure use some ideas.

Hi Wally !

I'm with you ! I have had 4 door cowls on my last 2 Rebels ...
They are pretty easy to do, and you can use different fiberglass
nosebowls. The factory sells a Piper-style one - I used a Thorp T-18
nosebowl from Aircraft Spruce -- there's a pic or 2 in the Files section.

If you get up to Brampton for a Builders Meeting, you can see
a bunch of them ! :-)
