I am about ready to put my windshield on and in researching
pictures of Rebel construction recommendations and problems,
I cam across a picture of a skylight adjacent to the flap
handle that developed a crack. The pictures showed the
addition of a doubler to fix the problem.
My question is that are doublers recommended when putting in
Skylights, particularly forward skylights?
My plane does not have any doublers there.

[rebel-builders] Rebel skylight doubler
[rebel-builders] Rebel skylight doubler
Gary, I installed diagonal 4130 steel tube, float braces from the forward
wing pick-ups through the dash and firewall to tabs on the motor mount.
And,I need to beef up my cabin roof to support me crawling across with a
fuel hose to the outboard side from the dock. Many places are too busy and
crowded to be turning the plane to fuel both tanks. I've been cautious to
open my cowl to stand on the top motor mount to get up on the roof then try
and be certain to stay on the bulkheads going across.....
These are 2 hings to consider before windshield installation.......Angus
