was going to be a partner in Clamar), weight about 180 to 200 lbs more when
all is said and done than the Murphy 1800 amphibs do. The Murphy's generally
come in around 265 to 285lbs. This 200 lbs is your passenger! BUT that
said... they seem to carry their own weight in the air VERY nicely. I was
the first person to mount a set of Clamars to an Elite doing the entire
installation from scratch. I only know of two Elites on Clamars now.. but
there could be more as of this year as I haven't talked with Clair this
summer.
They perform extremely well. 30 gallons of fuel in a 180 HP Elite... me
215lbs... Bob 210 lbs.. absolutely no wind and we got off a 1600 foot lake
and out over the trees.
Standard bungee gear and a Scott 3200 tailwheel go about 55 lbs to 65 lbs
depending on wheel vintage/die spring struts etc. Therefore on Murphys
amphibs your increase in empty weight becomes about 220 lbs.

Any experiences regarding the Claymar amphib floats on a rebel? I see

they are heavier than the Murphy floats. On Murphy's site they state a

gain of 225 lbs for theirs. I'm assuming that's the floats less the

of the landing gear that'd be removed, although it doesn't say that.
The Claymars I saw weigh 425 and not knowing what the weight is that I'd
be
removing to install them, I'm not sure what the net gain in weight would
be. Maybe not my first choice but at least a choice with the Murphy
floats
availibility questionable. I did see the Claymar 2200's on several Elites
so they may just be too big for the rebel.
