[rebel-builders] contact info - McKenzie STOL kit

Post by Rebecca Brownell » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:43 pm

Hi Bob thanks for the response.I haven't heard from Angus yet and I'm
about torivet the stringers on the leading edge
skins.Does yours use the same row of rivets as the stringers or does
one make new holes top and bottom to attach
the new leading edge after assembly of the wing is complete?I guess
thats a long way of asking ,do i need to worry about
installing stol kit now or can it simply be done after assembly?
Thanks ,if you know

Hi Jason !

You can install the STOL kit later - BUT --- it's important to
use countersunk rivets in 2 places on each leading edge rib ....
so the cuff can fit properly.

Unfortunately, I can't remember WHICH 2 rivets !!
Hopefully Angus will answer here - or someone with more recent
memory of installation .... Ken ???

Three rivets on each leading edge rib should be countersunk. I know I've
posted details in the archives. Anyway for sure it does not affect any
of the stringer rivets.

I've got a couple of photos that Angus sent me on installing his
STOL kit. Unfortunately I deleted the email with the address of who
asked the original question. If you want to send me an email address
I'll forward his info.

Ken ???
