Here is a set of articles about mogas and ethanol that I thought were good
reading.

Here is a link to an RV group that has been flying for some time on 100%
ethanol.

It seems that the greatest challenge with ethanol is the fuel system
components.
As for mogas, it seemed to work well in my low compression O-320. Saved lots
of money, that's for sure. It still received the occasional fill-up(s) of
avgas on my trips and in the winter, so I guess the valves and seats still
got their share of lead lubrication. With my new engine (higher
compression), I intend to use 100LL to start off, but later on would like to
use some premium mogas with it as well.
But I am certainly no proponent of ethanol, and fortunately in my area, it
is still easily avoided.

Rotax does approve 5% ethanol in the fuel and, while not official,
Lockwood stated they have had no negative results from 10% ethanol.
Of course, that still leaves the suitability of the fuel system in
the airframe.

And of course separation of the ethanol is also a major concern,
especially in humid areas, cold areas, and for aircraft that are parked
for any period of time.
