know I saw an article on this in AOPA magazine some months ago. However, I
don't recall it listing any comprehensive resource where one could learn
where to avoid and for how long with newly registered planes.

Sorry, looks like the flying will be delayed - maybe that's
a good thing, though ... I just heard that Florida, like Maine,
and a couple of other states, are charging a "use tax" for
new aircraft !! If you haven't flown the aircraft in another
state for over 6 months, and you come to visit, you could
be slapped with a $24,000 ++ bill for taxes - and it's legal,
apparently !!!! Discovered by an unfortunate fellow from
NH, who visited ME for a couple of days, and received
a LARGE invoice !!!!!!!!!!!!
We are planning to head out this Wednesday, with stops
enroute, so we'll get there on Saturday, or Sunday latest...
The Murphy Builders Get-Together Party will start on
Tuesday April 8th, at 4:30 PM at the Campground Corn Roast
picnic area. We start early, so we can get a few tables together.
As usual, Anna & I will be providing some beer, wine, & ice, and
Ralph & Charlie are also bringing boxes of bubbly... so
we should have a GOOD time !!! :-)
EVERYBODY is welcome !!! A good chance to catch up on
building & flying progress..... and make plans to join us on
the Rebel Ramble to Quebec this summer ! We'll have some
munchies, and the campground corn is inexpensive & tasty !
