Hey Drew, how did you manage to pre-post, several days ago, a message
that I am not supposed to get until tomorrow, our time? You must be in
the only time zone that is a matter of days ahead of UTC :)

cheers

Post by Mike Davis » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:26 pm

It was offered by the same folks that made the Turbine Moose... Aerotek
Aviation. I don't believe they still offer it however. Not sure why, I
thought it looked very promising.

http://www.aerotekaviation.ca/mot-Intro-e.html

They used to have a video up there of a C185 with the prototype motor, which
was a LS1. But I can't find that anymore.

Mike,
I remember emailing you 2 years ago asking about V8s and you saying you were
thinking about the Helicor. I know Aerotek has been promoting their turbine
more. I wonder if there was a problem with the Helicor. At that price very
tempting - anyone else interested?

[rebel-builders] ls2 corvette engine on ebay

Post by Mike Kimball » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:26 pm

I have about $36,000 invested in my Rodec Chevy 350 engine/PSRU/engine
mount/accessories and mine is carbureted. That is a ridiculously low price.
If that is a PSRU made by Aerotek it is a dead ringer for the CAM500 I have
which cost over $12,000. Anybody interested in a V8 conversion should take
a real good look at that one.

Hello Mike

When you say $36000.00 is a very low price... versus a new Lycoming? The best deal was not the M14P? Hp/dollards?
Just for info, my "little" Rebel will never use a big engine like those!

I think Mike meant the $6000 minimum bid for the LS2 as ridiculously low.
Wouldn't buy you a Lycoming core.

[rebel-builders] ls2 corvette engine on ebay

Post by Brian » Sun Feb 19, 2012 4:26 pm

I have a copy of the video of the C185 if any one is interested. It's about
2.5MB, so for the sake of those that dial up, I don't want to send it to the
entire list.

Too bad that they don't offer it any more. I thought it looked promising.
I sent a note to the ebayer. Apparently this was slated for a Comp Air.

[rebel-builders] ls2 corvette engine on ebay

Okay - just loaded it up for those that want to feel like you're at the
races. It's in the S/M Engine section.

If you would Brian, just upload the video to the forum site, I'd like to
hang on to a copy.

I have a copy of the video of the C185 if any one is interested. It's
about
2.5MB, so for the sake of those that dial up, I don't want to send it to
the
entire list.

Too bad that they don't offer it any more. I thought it looked promising.
I sent a note to the ebayer. Apparently this was slated for a Comp Air.

It was offered by the same folks that made the Turbine Moose... Aerotek
Aviation. I don't believe they still offer it however. Not sure why, I
thought it looked very promising.

They used to have a video up there of a C185 with the prototype motor,
which

was a LS1. But I can't find that anymore.

Does anyone know anything about Helicor or their PSRU?

I just saw this on another group and thought there may be an interested
moose builder.
