Need some help and advice from the Moose (or Rebel) group. I want to
install an A/P on my Moose, but have not been able to come up with a good
place for the aileron servo. Elevator servo would easily mount along the
cable run to the tail, but haven't found a good place for aileron servo -
especially considering any interaction between flap and aileron. Any help
or suggestion would be appreciated - location, type, etc.

Ted,

Although I'm building a Rebel, I'd also be interested in what you've
done for A/P design in your Moose. Please send me copies too and/or post
to the group web site. Thanks.

Ron

I have the DFC Series Autopilot from TruTrak Flight Systems installed
(www.trutrakflightsystems.com). I uploaded two pics of the servo and
actuator arm to Area 112 S/M Control systems. I'll post better pictures by
the weekend and also provide you with make/model info on the servo (thought
I had it here at home but the info's at the hangar).

Anyway, the install works very well. I can't compare it to other planes
because I've never flown anything else with an autopilot. If things get
really turbulent then the autopilot starts "chasing" things. Other than
that one comment, it's great.

[rebel-builders] Moose A/P

Hi Charlie: I installed the TruTrack servos in a Moose and have uploaded
three pictures to the Moose Fus section. The Aileron wing mount was pretty
straight forward per Trutrack's recommendation, but I did not like their
pitch servo suggestion. They show it in the back working with the elevator
cable. In my opinion there would be to much wasted movement flexing the
cables. I mounted it direct to the control column with a push rod as you
will see in the pics. I have lots of pics if you need more. Bob J

Somewhere I remember seeing a nice servo installation on the fuselage rib on
the passenger side with a cable attachment.
