[rebel-builders] BIGGER ENGINES

Post by Walter Klatt » Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:57 pm

Well, I won't be anywhere near VNE on my Rebel floatplane even with the 360.
My only objective is to be able to get off the water at 8000 density
altitude and have enough climb power to clear the trees and mountain at the
end. With the 320 or less, it just makes for a nice fast boat up there.

I found the article on the link below from another site. It was written
for RV's so it may not be applicable for Murphy designs but may be worth
reading for those contemplating larger engines. Good information IMHO.

Go to www.vansaircraft.com then click on Information on specific models,
then RV-9/9A, then Specifications and then "Why Can't I use a Larger
Engine"
