[rebel-builders] Amphib sister keel

Post by Ken » Sun Feb 19, 2012 12:16 pm

Hi Clay
Any chance that shortening the sister keel a bit will solve the problem??
Hammering (steel hammer and steel anvil) will stretch aluminum if you
wanted to try that.

Hi Guys,
The sister keels are straight but the float bottom is round forward bulkhead 'D'. The instruction and MAM support say to just force down and cleco but that seems to be putting a lot of strain on the bulkheads and stiffeners. I tried shrinking a little with no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks

Clay

Hi Clay If you flatten it a bit it will follow the curve better. I got mine
to fit by sticking it in the crotch of a tree and bending it a little bit.
I know it sounds crude but the round branches don't mark the metal at all
and it's really easy to control the amount of bend.
