Well I must say that after putting a total of 3.8 hours on the Rebel - 2.3
hours on the Rebel today with Bob and then taking it up myself I have a
pretty big smile tonight.
I of course still have things to do, which I'm told will never end, but
today's flights were really quite good. The Rebel does land and take off
differently than the planes I'm used to but what fun diving at the runway,
side slipping, and letting it settle on to the grass strip.
Thanks again Bob, you did a great job and your knowledge made it quite a
bit
easier. (had my first - ride a thermal experience to gain altitude -
rapidly)

Cheers
Jim Rebel 333

Great news Jim and congratulations for a job well done. It really is an
exciting time and not one to be taken lightly. You have accomplished an
enormous task and should be very proud of yourself. You will never forget
that "1st flight" in something you built. I still smile when I think of my
1st Rebel flight and the comment the tower made when I landed - " looks like
you came back with all the parts you left with" - great sense of humor. Pour
yourself a good stiff drink and celebrate and I will do the same - Cheers
and here's thinking of you. Bob J

Bob Patterson

Congratulations Jim !! What a smile !

You did a great job - she flies like a Rebel !!! :-)

I was very impressed with the performance with the 912-S --
it's very smooth, and definitely gets the Rebel up there MUCH
better than the old O-235, on VERY little fuel !!! It will continue
to get better for a long time - ours took 600 hours to 'break-in'
and it's still going strong, 16 years later !

Using thermals to climb will come in handy when we're
Rambling through the mountains - soooon !! :-) :-)
More smiles coming soon !!!
